Man what a great week of fishing it has been. The winds have fallen to nothing and the reds have been taking advantage of the great weather to stuff their bellies. James and hi son Ryan came down from Atl. to chase some reds with me and we didn’t have to chase much, just cast. We had so many fish cruising the bank we were fishing that I couldn’t even take pics of all the fish that had caught. The tides have been running over predicted, leaving the water not as clear as would like to see this time of year, but plenty clear to see many, many reds. I’ve been wanting to go out in the ocean and see if the allies are out there, but when you know your going to have giant schools of reds ready to bust up some flies, well it’s kinda tough to pas that up. I sure hope we can continue this mild winter weather, but ya never know what mother nature is going to toss at ya.

The winds have fallen and the fish are happy !!
It’s incredible what happens after the winds lay down after a couple of weeks N.E. at 20 plus. Fish are happy and popping baits and anglers are happy busting lips ! It’s nothing short of amazing when the winds fall off and the fish have a happy time to eat, and this is what has happened this week at Pickney Island. Over the past week I have seen the fish at Pickney Island go from unhappy to very happy !! just because the winds have fallen. Let’s hope the weather holds this pattern for the remainder of the winter. Wishful thinking. I’m sure at some point winter will rear it’s ugly head, but till then have fun with the fish !!!
