Well all good things must come to an end, and it looks like the bulk of the poon are moving south.  That’s not to say it’s over but it’s definitely on the downslide from what I have seen.  There have been some sightings of fish busting bait this week, but every time I have looked I have come a bit empty.  Further down the coast is holding some fish and hopefully they will hold for a bit longer.  On the other hand there have been some big triple tail floating around and nice reds in the grass and in some really cool areas that I will post pics of later in the week. The trout bite this week has gone bonkers !  Went out a couple times by myself and commenced to woopin them good.  Just using a white DIO 1/4 shrimp seemed to work just perfect.  Cast the DOA let it sink and give it a lil twitch from time to time and you should be able to get all ya want.  Ya know twice this week I have been at the ramp and people have said they caught the heck out of the fish 2- 3 days in a row at their spot and came in empty today,Well what the F$#k do you think is going to happen when you kill every fish in that spot and continue to go back and expect to catch more.  I don’t even get it,  is it that hard to imagine or get your pee brain wrapped around the idea of releasing fish so you can possibly go back and catch them again.  It seems as though guides and anglers here have a tendency to beat there little spot to death keeping fish or just  fishing the spot day after day after day after, well you get it. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy fresh fish as much as anyone but responsible harvest is key.  I Release all reds, and try and get trout and flounder for the cooler and there is short supply of trout now!  I’m talking every cast once you ind them.

I have been fishing the Georgia and South Carolina Coast for 30 years and guiding full time for 20 plus years. What you will get from me is a quality fishing trip, whether with fly rod or spinning tackle that is always a long time on the water for the rate. My half days run more like 5-6 hours and full days are over 8 hours. 4 hours on a half day just isn't long enough to fish. What you will not get from me is a quick trip to spots 5 minutes away that are fished heavily so can make it back to the dock in time for my next trip. I have guided through out the southeast as well as Alaska and the Bahamas. I have been instrumental in developing shallow water sight casting in Georgia and South Carolina and have been the first to introduce Tarpon fishing on fly rod to South Carolina and Georgia!!
