Summer is on us ! Â Funny how this year the weather went from winter to summer in a hurry. Â Tarpon are showing up in Georgia and the low country. Â The bay Point area is showing some fish and all along the coast of Ga.. Â The fish are a bit sporadic as of yet. Â We made a run for the poon yesterday and had a good amount of fish rolling popping some baits and floating. Â Even had a couple of fish waking right towards the boat and they just disappeared. Â Seems as though we were a bit out of position on every fish and just couldn’t make it happen. Â We did manage an eat, but just didn’t get tight. Â Big Jacks are out there swimming around ready to blow up on top water, triple tail are in and we have been seeing some monster spanish mackerel slashing baits. Â something that I found interesting this week. Â Saw a guides post on a web page, Â a cooler full of reds on ice and the guide is complaining that the bite has not been as good as previous years. ok, I may be a catch and release guy on reds and I know folks like to keep some fish. Â That’s ok as well, but if your running trips and going to the same spots and killing fish you have no right to complain about the bite. Â Seems as though the trout bite has really started to blow up as well ! Â Top water at first light can really make for some good fun.
