I have been fishing the Georgia and South Carolina Coast for 30 years and guiding full time for 20 plus years. What you will get from me is a quality fishing trip, whether with fly rod or spinning tackle that is always a long time on the water for the rate. My half days run more like 5-6 hours and full days are over 8 hours. 4 hours on a half day just isn't long enough to fish. What you will not get from me is a quick trip to spots 5 minutes away that are fished heavily so can make it back to the dock in time for my next trip. I have guided through out the southeast as well as Alaska and the Bahamas. I have been instrumental in developing shallow water sight casting in Georgia and South Carolina and have been the first to introduce Tarpon fishing on fly rod to South Carolina and Georgia!!

Be Careful

Seems as though there are plenty of guides out there advertising on google, who don’t know squatr about fly fishing and don’t have boats for fly fishing. Be careful! You don’t want to get stuck in some big bay boat or stuck with a guide who dosn’t know much about fly Fishing. Money is tough to come by these days make sure with a well qualified fly fishing guide.

Fly fishing Savannah, and Hilton Head

Seems like the second you start getting something right it all changes. We have been getting tarpon in the channels this summer, now the beach’s are filling up with bait and the poon have been starting to move that way in some areas. This make the fish much easier to get on fly. The reds have been good this year, finding plenty of fish in plenty of places. I don’t know much on the trout seen, but I have heard some nice fish are being caught and released due to their size. These larger trout are the females and important to the trout recovery in the area.
