I have been fishing the Georgia and South Carolina Coast for 30 years and guiding full time for 20 plus years. What you will get from me is a quality fishing trip, whether with fly rod or spinning tackle that is always a long time on the water for the rate. My half days run more like 5-6 hours and full days are over 8 hours. 4 hours on a half day just isn't long enough to fish. What you will not get from me is a quick trip to spots 5 minutes away that are fished heavily so can make it back to the dock in time for my next trip. I have guided through out the southeast as well as Alaska and the Bahamas. I have been instrumental in developing shallow water sight casting in Georgia and South Carolina and have been the first to introduce Tarpon fishing on fly rod to South Carolina and Georgia!!

Fun Day

I have been slack about posting pics, but I finally remembered to bring my camera today and boy am I glad. Paul Rankin an I headed to mamby pamby land for a great afternoon of fishing. The best thing about this place is no bait fisherman, and ya know what that means? Lots of fish!! I hate bait fisherman. Paul managed 8 or so fish and even let me catch a couple. Fishing has been good if ya can get away from all the cork slinging going on out there. The trout are showing up good as well. Next week I’m making a plan to go looking for stripers and we’ll see what happens.

Trout

There has been a pretty good trout bite going on as of late. Not all small fish either. We have not been crushing a ton of fish in any one place but a couple of stops and some jigs bounced on the bottom or doa shrimp and one can find themselves all the fish ya want. Another good thing about trout fishing is no boats! Every one is deternmined to limit out on bass they have forgotten how or where to trout fish or just don’t care about them. This has helped our trout rebound quickly after losing so many last winter, but hurt our reds w/ more pressure. Watched a program on GPTV ad they were talking about the high levels of PCB’s in dolphin along the Georgis coast. This is bad stuff and the leves are very high in the southern half of the state with a superfund cleanup site. This is bad stuff ,and the state of Georgia could be openning itself up with the commercial sale of redfish,and trout.
