I have been fishing the Georgia and South Carolina Coast for 30 years and guiding full time for 20 plus years. What you will get from me is a quality fishing trip, whether with fly rod or spinning tackle that is always a long time on the water for the rate. My half days run more like 5-6 hours and full days are over 8 hours. 4 hours on a half day just isn't long enough to fish. What you will not get from me is a quick trip to spots 5 minutes away that are fished heavily so can make it back to the dock in time for my next trip. I have guided through out the southeast as well as Alaska and the Bahamas. I have been instrumental in developing shallow water sight casting in Georgia and South Carolina and have been the first to introduce Tarpon fishing on fly rod to South Carolina and Georgia!!

Fly Fishing Hilton Head, Savannah and all points beyond

Ya gotta love the first catch of the day is a double ! It was too cold to start the morning off and the fish were doing a bit of hiding, but as soon as the sun broke from a light cloud cover, there they were and all to happy to eat a fly. I had the chance to fish a Chitim Skiff this week for two days, and what a boat ! Warren had just purchased one with a 12 degree dead rise, and what a difference having a bit of V at the end of the day makes. We had some good chop to go thru on the way back to the ramp and that boat ate it up. Also this skiff is so light, with a 70 hp yamaha, half a second at half throttle, and on plane. With the standard transom, turning this skiff was a dream as well. Talking about spinning a boat on a dime, and it tracked like a laser while poling. Incredible boat !

Fly fishing Hilton Head and Savannah

The past week has been a strange one. With tides running well below the predicted low’s. The other day we had almost a -2 foot tide. Leaving many of the fish with no flat to hide on. There were places I have never seen dry, very dry. I think we had more mud than water. When you did find fish, they were some spooky dudes. Things are leveling out this week and should get a bit more back to normal.
