As the title says we have had our share of N.E.  winds and it;s getting a bit old.  Looks like this weeks the N.E. winds settle and we go into  more  favorable winds.  Since the winds have been a pain I have been doing a bunch more trout fishing and I must say it has been pretty dang fun !!  Whether you want to catch them on top water or use a DOA free swimming or under a popping cork.   If you want to have a fun day catching a ton of trout now is the time.  Water temps are staying very mild for this time of year and the fish are taking advantage of this extra feeding time.  I did a little striper fishing the other day with not much luck, but I didn’t give it a tom of time knowing I had a good trout bite happening.  I look forward to this week with the winds settling and mild temps,  hopefully the fish will be more than willing to come out and play.

Ben Austin finally made it back to town after traveling the east coast.  Ben is a rep for Orvis and gave me a call to see if I wanted to go wet a line. Sure, is all I could say.  I wanted to go look around and see what was happening in the local area, and what we found was good in a couple of flats and not so good in others.  That’s fishing right ?  I gave Ben one of Chris Webbers crab patterns to use and told him they have been crushing it.  First good shot we had, Smack !!!  This red took the fly off the top and the fight was on.  It’s nice to get out with an old friend when the two of you haven’t been fishing for a long time.  Crazy weather, the past 2 days felt more like July, then today, November.  Might be time to go look for a striper or two with the cooler weather.
