Wrong, try 20 plus out of the east.  No worries the fish were chewing.  I have been seeing some dead trout in the past couple of weeks.  Looks like our cold winter was tough on some trout, the reds on the other hand are plentiful and hungry

Man in outdoor gear holding a freshly caught fish by the water.Deep winter is upon us and the fish are feeling it.  There are some beautiful schools of fish out there and the water is clear.  That being said it would be nice to get a bit of a warm up.  Yesterday while poling for some reds I saw some small trout laid up on the flats.  When you see these little guys in the shallows you know the water is getting cold.  These little guys are willing to take the chance of getting picked off by a osprey or pelican just to warm up a bit.  The reds on the other hand are moving about and will eat flies and artificial ‘s , but you can tell they are not jumping out of their scales to eat.  The tides are a bit off this week, and with another 5 days of super cold weather I will not be messing around out there.  Hopefully next week with proper tides we will get a bit of a warming trend,  Please !
