Fishing Savannah, Hilton Head and Beaufort

Long time customer Ryan Kennedy came down to the coast for some shallow water sight casting and was not disappointed. Â Even though we had some clouds day one we were at least blessed with light winds and clear water. Â That being said it wasn’t easy spotting fish, but we had them flashing, belly crawling, and actually tailing at one flat on the low water. Â Bill Bowers gave me a holla the other day to say he had busted up on some stripers. Â Caught all the fish on live shrimp about four to five feet below a cork. Â I believe he told me all fish were in the 5-10 lbs range. Â Man I want to go striper fishing !

I love some deep winter fishing, Â the water is clear not as many folks on the water and the fish are hungry. Â What’s best of all Pickney Island is surrounded with big schools of fish. I have been really diggin the trout bite, Â working DOA’s slow and deep have been producing some nice specks. Â Any chance I get to go trout fishing with a customer I get jacked. Seems most boats these days are after reds at low water. Â Head out on the high tide and trout fish and no problem with boats and your catching not chasing fish.
