Looking at my last post I was wondering if it was ever going to get winter like. Well, it has become winter !  Seems as though I have been rescheduling more trips than fishing.  Some days just aren’t worth going and getting your butt kicked.  When Scott and Mike Dempsey came in for a day of fishing the weather turned out to be less than perfect, but we made the call to go give it a look, being that the weather man said it was going to be in the 70’s. It didn’t even get out of the 50’s !  Blowing, rain and fog made conditions less than favorable.  We still managed to find some fish that were willing to take a fly.  Now that we have some serious cold fronts swinging through, now we will have those sunny day with cooler temps.  The sun is so key this time of year for locating and fly or lure placement on the low tides.

Is there anything better than pulling up on a flat and watching reds tailing and rolling around in 4 ” of water, O yeah and them pounding the Chris Webber bunny fly you tied on for your client.  Well that’s exactly what happened yesterday, while fly fishing hilton head. I must say that never gets old !!  You know when your on a good flat that hasn’t been beat up.  The key to a good day fly fishing is just don’t fish for reds where bait fisherman fish.  It’s amazing the difference in fish behavior.
