David B couldn't get enough in one day Day 2

I have been slack fishing and posting,  Hurricane Leslie was pumping just too much swell to think about fishing.  As you can see we are having a bit of fun in the grass chasing some tail.  I even had the chance to go out and do a little bit of fun fishing and found a nice group of fishing tailing nearby.  I was solo so I had to wade and let me just say you are at a major disadvantage wading for tailing reds.  I guess I have been spoiled fishing from the best shallow water fishing platform, “Hell’s Bay Prof”  Being in my boat allows you to cover so much more water and gives the angler and guide much more visibility,  another thing I found is it helps keep your back cast from catching grass.  I will never wade again unless absolutely necessary.  Another thing about my Hell’s Bay I have found is that with only one angler I’m in the grass before the fish anyway. The fish need more water than my boat.

Up and down weather conditions have made things interesting, but fish have to eat. So we feed them!  There have been a good number of reds in the grass the past week with the hard onshore winds.  The big news though is the trout.  The bite has been really good in many areas.  This is great news and if we can have another mild winter and fish don’t get to hammered by the bait guys, numbers should be real good the following year.  There have been some tarpon around, but with the weather I have not been able to give it a good look.  Hopefully this week we can run some beach’s and see what’s happening out there.
